Day 1

Arrive at Shanghai’s airport, where your private guide will meet you at the arrival hall. You’ll then be whisked away in a private vehicle to your centrally located hotel. During the ride, your guide will offer a brief introduction to this vibrant metropolis and confirm your departure time for the next morning.

Begin your day at The Bund, Shanghai’s most famous waterfront, before venturing into the Former French Concession. Here, you’ll stroll among beautiful colonial-era buildings that evoke the charm of 19th-century Shanghai. Next, visit Yu Garden, a classic example of a traditional Chinese garden, where decorated bridges and ancient pavilions transport you 400 years into the past. Adjacent to the garden is Yuyuan Market, perfect for sampling local snacks and finding unique souvenirs. You’ll also get an exclusive look at a silk workshop to see how humble cocoons transform into elegant silk. Cap off your day with a visit to the top of the Shanghai World Financial Center for a sweeping bird’s-eye view of the city’s skyline. Spend your morning at your leisure—consider exploring Zhujiajiao Water Town, a charming suburb just an hour from central Shanghai, known for its ancient houses and stone bridges. In the afternoon, catch a flight (about 2.5 hours) to Guilin. Once you land, your local guide will meet you and transfer you to your hotel. Enjoy a relaxing evening with a stroll to admire the city’s night view or sampling local treats.

Today, embark on a scenic journey as you drive 50 minutes to Zhujiang Pier and board your Li River cruise bound for Yangshuo. Over approximately 4 hours (weather and water levels permitting), you’ll be captivated by pastoral vistas of karst hills, dramatic cliffs, hidden caverns, and lush bamboo groves. Lunch is served on board. Upon arrival in Yangshuo around 1:30 p.m., explore the lively West Street before transferring to your hotel. Enjoy the remainder of the day at your own pace or opt for a cycling or driving tour through the idyllic Yangshuo countryside.

After breakfast, drive back to Guilin to visit the enchanting Reed Flute Cave. Marvel at the cave’s “underground city” of stalactites and stalagmites, illuminated in vibrant hues. A stop at a local pearl store adds a touch of sparkle to your journey before you catch a flight to Xi’an. Upon arrival, your guide will transfer you to your hotel for check-in.

After breakfast, journey about 1.5 hours to the magnificent Mutianyu Great Wall. Today, your private guide and driver will transfer you to Beijing Capital International Airport.
